Thanks for all the replies, still awaiting slim chance of resolution before a name and shame begins.

It is a large enough company that offered paying cash or paying by card over the phone when booking. Learnt my lesson there!

Don't name and shame until you have exhausted all possibilities, you want to get justice, not aggro. As said, send a recorded delivery letter to ask for a written description of the issue. As far as you are concerned, the boiler was functional until the service, so they have broken it. Once you have the letter from them, send another recorded delivery letter stating what you want - the boiler repaired - and give them 14 days to respond. State that if they don't, you will engage someone to inspect the boiler, and repair it, and if the fault is found to have been the servicing, you will go to the small claims court to claim back your costs. (Cue a post saying there is no such thing. :D) Don't put up with it. :)

  • if the boiler fires up & you get hot water for a short time I doubt it's the APS, they normally work or they don't

clicky incase you don't have the MI for your boiler
I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.

You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.

Were you left any paperwork after the service? If so, does it have the engineers GSR number on it? You might get a result by speaking back to the company and saying that as you don't believe their explanation they have an opportunity to come and put right before you contact http://www.gassaferegister.co.uk/help/make_a_complaint.aspx
