Switched to ISupply Energy - and they've taken £70 UP-FRONT! What are my rights?

I repeat, what date in the month did you agree for your DD?No free lunch, and no free laptop0

How did you apply? On their website the very first page commencing an application is a focused box where the only sentences are one or two stating that a one month instalment will be taken straight away.
Yes I've seen that. Unfortunately I switched to them via USwitch, so I never even saw their homepage. And there were no warnings from USwitch that I would be debited up front.0 -
Update:
Still no call back, email reply or twitter reply from anyone at Isupply, even though I stated I wished to make a complaint.
I have now got my bank to refund the £70 debited, as there was no advance notice of it.0 -
So ask them why they took your DD on the 15th.
As explained by me and another poster, it is not my DD payment. It is a "Booking Fee" - which they take upfront in order to give themselves lots of capital to buy their energy in bulk, to give the cheaper price per KW. Please read the previous posts. My DD is scheduled for the 28th and I expect that to be taken after 1 month's usage, In september.
I would love to ask them too, but as you can see if you read the previous posts, they do not answer the phone, nor reply to emails or tweets.0 -

But you said in post 10 that your 'booking fee' was shown as £0.00?
No, if you are already on supply then your first DD will be taken on 28/8, not 28/9. By then you would have been on supply for 6 weeks.
If the £70 was taken without prior advice then simply invoke the DD g'tee via your bank and you will be refunded immediately. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Yes, exactly - hence why they should not have taken the booking fee! They have made a mistake. It's not my DD.
OK, you think they will take the first DD on 28/8? That would be ok.
Also, please see post #15 where I said I have already requested to have the £70 refunded by my bank.
Thanks for the advice.0 -
UPDATE: *STILL* no response from iSupply, my electricity company. Absolutely terrible customer service.0

As mentioned 5 days ago in post 7, any claim under the DD guarantee should be made direct to your bank, which will result in an immediate refund by your bank.
What are you waiting for? Christmas? I'm sure the supplier will contact you if they think you owe them money after reclaiming it via the bank.0
