More BT woes

Pay BT bill for broadband and phone automatically by credit card every quarter. Called them last month to give new CC details as old credit card expired end Aug - got name and ref no for confirmation. Recieved latest bill asking for payment, so I don't know if it has been paid or not. I have now tried 8 times to get someone to speak to me about this.
Latest was this morning. 5 different departments, finally told I have to pay by direct debit as credit cards aren't accepted, and as reference number expires after 24(!) hours they cannot track who I spoke to (her name is Joy), or why I my credit card details were taken in the first place.
I am still waiting for someone to call me back.
I still don't know if the s**ding bill has been paid.
Why did they take my CC details in the first place?
Their customer service is appalling
Meg

Why not just log in and pay your bill online then?
You don't have to pay by DD, but it is the best way (whole bill monthly DD).
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Macman,
I don't want to pay my bill online or by direct debit. I want to pay it the way I have been for the last 20 years, by credit card so I get my points.
    Still no call back.

Check your online account - will tell you all the bills and payments ADR on your BT account.

And do they amount to more than the £24 a year you are surcharged as a payment processing fee for not using DD?
