Best company to book a tour holiday with

Hello everyone.
Did try to do a search but nothing came up for what we are after (apologies if I didn't look hard enough).
Been looking at doing a tour holiday in late 2014/early 2015.
Ideal destinations are Australia/New Zealand, Thailand/Singapore/China.
Would also consider the US/Canada at any other time of the year either in 2014/15.
We aren't the most confident of travelers nor are we experienced in booking multiple hotels/flights/excursions etc etc, hence the need for a "tour" type of holiday, mostly guided, but allowing time to explore by ourselves maybe at certain points in the holiday.
Looking at anywhere up to £5k per person, for anywhere between 3-4 weeks away. We want it to be a trip of a lifetime really, something to remember forever, and something that would be worth doing before trying for a baby - we are 25 and 26 so it'll likely be the last big trip we have for a good few years once we have that little addition to the family!
Can anyone suggest a tour company to book this type of trip with?
Flights (outgoing and internal) & Taxes/Accommodation/Excursions all included.
Some stories/examples of trips from anybody with first hand experience in this type of thing would be welcomed also.
Many thanks in advance,
Luke.

I've done TrekAmerica twice and loved it.
One of my friends has just come back from the Southern Sun trip (LA - NYC) and had an amazing time.
If you don't fancy camping, then they do lodging tours too.
I was going solo so didn't fancy being completely alone, but there was a mix of people there - solo travellers, friends, couples and a mix of nationalities.
There are some long days on the road, which when you're covering a lot of distances is to be expected, but you get to see some amazing scenery.0 -
I've never been on a guided tour holiday myself as they aren't my kind of thing - I'm very much a DIYer - but there are lots of companies out there, it just depends on what you want to do and the level of luxury you expect. There will be a big difference between camping and stopping in 5* hotels every night.
I know people who have reported havubg good tours with http://www.intrepidtravel.com/uk and http://www.kuoni.co.uk/escorted-tours0 -

Thank you all!
Will have a look at your suggestions later this evening!0 -
We have done two fantastic multi centre trips to Asia with Kuoni. Everything booked and arranged for us. This was several years ago, but they are still organising similar trips.0

Firstly your not doing anything wrong, they're not on sale yet for winter 2014/2015. Obviously i'm going to recommend Thomas cook tours, but wendy woo seem to be very good. Kuoni in my opinion are expensive. But if you know where you want to go and what you want to do a good travel agent
will be able to put together exactly what you want, all the flights, hotels, transfers etc and recommend if a tour would be better.

I have friends who did a 3 week honeymoon tour of South America with Kuoni. They are expensive but at that end of the market you do get a totally tailor-made package rather than something off the shelf.0 -
Kuoni used to do 2 levels of holiday, I don't know if they still do. The normal brochure then one called Kuoni 3, we went with the cheaper Kuoni 3. This was supposed to be three star hotels, but our travel agent advised us that three star Asian hotels are the equivalent of four or even five star European hotels.
We had great hotels, certainly no complaints. The service was fantastic from Kuoni.0 -
Travelbag were very good when we did a tour of OZ on 2001.0
