manufacturers warranty on a used car?

I know this is probably quite an obvious question but would really appreciate some advice!
I recently purchased a 60 plate fiesta from a car dealership (not a ford one), the car is fine but has a niggly common fault with clunky steering when reversing (acknowledged by ford and TSB issued just hasn't been fixed on mine) and a high pitched squeak when driving at low speeds upto 30mph, sounds as if it's coming from the suspension or steering possibly. I rang my local ford dealer to get it booked in for Monday on the understanding that its still within the 3 years manufacturers warranty (registered feb 11). It has just come to me that it may not actually be still under warranty as i didn't purchase it from new, is that actually the case or does the warranty just transfer over? According to Ford the warranty applies to the car rather than attached to the person so I think I'll be ok just don't want to face an expensive bill!

From the Ford website:
Is my vehicle warranty transferable between owners?
Yes, the Ford Protect Classic warranty plan applies to the vehicle and not the owner so subsequent owners can benefit from the balance of any warranty remaining on your vehicle when you sell it.0 -
Factory warranty transfers between owners.0

Technically, no Ford over a year old is still under manufacturer warranty.
Years two and three are covered under a dealer-backed warranty scheme.
However, it is still transferable.0 -
Check the service book or any receipts that were provided to make sure it was serviced in accordance with Fords requirements.
There was someone on here a few months ago who had a repair refused due to going over the recommended service time.0 -

It's only done 19,000 and has been serviced twice in accordance with their requirements during this time so I think it's ok.
Thanks for your help, just needed some reassurance.0 -

Glad to hear. If you've not had the car long then the dealer you bought it from should be sorting it out for you.0 -

I know it's just that the dealer is quite a distance away and well, it would be inconvenient. Plus I think I would rather it go to Ford anyway!0 -
Any Ford dealer can perform warranty work. It just has to be an authorised dealer.0

Extremely doubtful given the age and mileage of the vehicle. The dealer will examine it first then tell you if it is a warranty issue or not before you authorise any work on it.0
