Hi,
i have just tried to get onto my email account (hotmail) via my work computer as i have done several times in the past and never needed to put my password in as it just automatically went through. Anyhow , this time it asked me for my password, which i cant remember, i tried several (lots) of different ones and my account is now locked meaning i cant see any of my previous emails or email addresses on any computer or my phone. I'm pretty dumb with this stuff , can anyone help me and tell me how i can get back onto it? Or is it doomed for ever and will i have to just set up a new one, and have i lost all contacts?
thanks.

there's a "Can't access your account" link. If you click on that, you might be able to log on via character recognition. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -

Hi,
did it happen to everybody at work?
Maybe been work done on main server, or company just don't want you emailing at work.
Did you try this?0 -

We can use private hotmail at work, in fact they have just put it on our screens as automatic now so they don't mind. Only happened to me as only one on my hotmail tonight.
That's pretty much what I tried, think I have managed to answer enough questions to pass the test so hopefully will get an email with a new password sent in a day or two to my work email that I can pick up next lot of shifts.
Thanks.Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.0 -
Hi, from past experience the only way is by clicking the 'cannot access my account' link. If you originally entered a phone number they should sent you a code via text or voice ( if its a landline ).
I have never had any response from the 'we'll get back to you in 24 hrs ' route.0 -

They have responded to work one saying they are looking into my answers?. And they must be doing something as the whole account keeps going on and off on my phone?? If they don't sort it I will go down the text my mobile route..but the message said you can only do that once....as in a once in a life time opportunity....how stupid as loads of people must do it. So....i had better keep that option for the next time. to be honest i'm sure I got flipping password right anyhow!..

Microsoft's email servers were having lots of problems yesterday.

So it may be because of that.0
