I think we're agreeing with each other. I dealt in relabelling some products for a few years. I wasn't aware that's what the OP meant.
Whether you can sell with the original label depends on the rights owner. A company used to get seconds from a big retailer and ended up losing the contract by selling them on to a wholesaler who gave the game away.
i have also dealt in seconds (clothing) and the first thing i would do is check every item and remove any labels, put i did once have written permission from Adams to sell their seconds with labels after been a bit cheeky in an Adams store. After get a load of Adams seconds, i took a list and went to visit an Adams store to see what they sell them for and just happened to be at the same time their buyer was at the store ( knew by name badge), so asked her about the seconds I had and gave her the list, the following day she called to see if as she was in my area if she could visit to see the stock, which she did and told me no problem selling with label as they were discontinued lines, but i had to pay her £100 and i was give a letter to show i was authorised to sell these items with labels. no longer deal in clothes as cant really compete with primark etc.0 -
I spoke to Action Fraud today re: whether the wig is considered counterfeit if they have used an image from Rene of Paris but not stated its Rene of Paris. According to action fraud it is NOT counterfeit, but instead is a consumer issue, of which they pointed me to citizens advice. Gee thanks.
Interesting to know you can steal a copyright image and produce cheap imitations and get away with it! No wonder we live in a deceitful world!!
