I have just successfully claimed for part of my mortgage protection 1992 - 1995 & 1997 - 2004 - all with the Halifax :jhowever the 1995 - 1997 period of time the Halifax are telling me that they didn't sell me the policy Hambro Guardian did - I'm positive that they are wrong as there would have been no reason to go elsewhere when the mortgage was being provided by Halifax still - should I go to the Ombudsman or chase Hambro Countrywide (now I believe Countrywide Group - there is nothing on their site about PPI claims that I could see).
Any advice gratefully appreciated - don't want to waste time sending it to the wrong place.

Did you use a broker?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
It was back in 1995 - I genuinely can't remember but I don't think so. Looking back at the paperwork it even says it has an original commencement date of 06/05/92 - which is the stuff they have paid out for! Confused.com. I may just send it to the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and let them work it out!0
