How do I stop Bailiff taking the car tomorrow (rossendales, council tax)

A bailiff woke us up this morning over an old debt of my husband and his ex, council tax. First we knew about this debt was 3 letters just over a week ago.
We have asked to set up a payment plan, but refused.
He has written on the notice he is removing the car, and charged us the van costs to do this.
The car is not my husbands, the V5 is not proof apparantly....
The insurance is in my name.
I use it for business in my mobile photography business, but this isnt stopping him either.
Its either pay in full, 3 seperate bills, each with 2 visits charged (so 6) though we've never had anyone here before about this, or he is taking the car, so he says.

Park it where they can't find it.0

Hide it and if he comes to the door and becomes aggressive, call the police.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Someone will be on here with words of wisdom but I genuinely thought that they couldn't take a car that:
- didn't belong to the person owing the debt
- was needed for work
I also think that there is a maximum amount that they can charge you for visits.Ninja Saving Turtle0 -
You need to find that old receipt that's in the drawer that states it was you who brought the car , they cannot take a car owned by you for a debt that is not in your name regardless of your marital status , if you cannot find or get a receipt for it then you need to pop down to your local solicitors first thing and get the solicitor to witness you signing a paper stating it is your car to give them (. Standard fee of a fiver, no need to wait or make an appointment) . Don't let em in, keep the doors and windows shut and talk from an upstairs window or keep the door chain on, its up to you to show them its not his car not for them to find out themselves , dot be afraid to call the police and tell them that a bailiff is trying to steal your car for a debt that doesn't have your name on it either0

Thing is the car is not in my name either, I have the log book and have permission to use it, i am the insurance holder for it.
The council have told us we can have a 7 day reprieve as we have an appointment with the CAB regarding this, but on phoning Rossendales they say they have not been instructed, yet, so as it stands hes still coming in the morning.
will make best effort to hide the car but he has said he knows he cant keep the car, but "thats why he has bonds" for when he takes cars he has to give back as they dont belong to the debtor.0 -
If the V5 isn't in your name or the husbands then who is named on it?
Anyway, a bailiff can take a partners belongings if there is joint ownership, some things are protected, such as vehicles that are required for work. However, you need proof of who purchased the vehicle which at least will be easy.

Can they charge for removal of my car, if theres no car to remove tomorrow? Hes quoted £130, and can he charge this more than once, if he comes back again the day after etc0

Its my car but in anothers name. I have the documents to change this, but not got round to it yet, not sure if I should right now as I'll have no documents.0

I would suggest moving the vehicle to somewhere they will not easily find it.
Then I would get husband write to the bailiff to state that the vehicle that they have levied on does not belong to him. I would hand them a copy of the letter tomorrow if they call, but I would also put a letter in the post to them.
There is some advice on this link which may help you

The person who does currently own the car - do they still have proof that it is their vehicle? a copy of the invoice/receipt for when they bought it?
Do you have a copy of anything that documents that they agreed you could use their vehicle? an email from them agreeing that or anything?
If it is your vehicle and you have purchased it from the previous owner but simply not yet updated DVLA then do you have a copy of a receipt from them for the money you paid to them. That would prove that the vehicle belongs to you not your husband.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
I have a facebook conversation regarding the car but no more than this. I also have a paypal payment from my business account to the owner for £100 towards it.
Im worried he'll find it, as hes hell bent on taking it, and I will have to prove things afterwards, but need car for work tomorrow afternoon.
I know he cant keep it, sell it etc but ive heard so many stories of them taking it and then the owner having to fight to get it back
Im feeling sick thinking about tomorrow0
