The screen on my laptop has stopped scrolling, I can still scroll the page by clicking on the down or up arrows on the right hand side of the screen. Could someone please explain to me what to do to get it back. Thank you. Its a pain when typing and I have to stop to go to the right to scroll.

Can you still see the scroll bars, or have they disappeared? Are you saying you are having a problem with certain websites, or documents? We had a similar issue at my office with Windows 8 laptops using Internet Explorer, but discovered that clicking on the Compatibility View button at the end of the address bar fixed the problem.0

Mouse or trackpad? If the latter plug in a USB mouse and see if that works. No free lunch, and no free laptop

If you are using Word or similar then try making it full screen (press F11).0

Any web site, I can still see the slider, but I used to tap the trackpad and slide my finger down to scroll. The solving of a problem lies in finding the solvers.0 -
So you either have a faulty trackpad, or need to adjust it's settings in Control Panel. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Some trackpad scrolling are area specific. It might sound daft but try on the right hand side of the trackpad as this is generally where a lot are.
Also check your mouse/trackpad settings as it might have been turned off.
N.B. if you use a mouse, you can often disable the trackpad which can cause problems when your palm sits on the trackpad and causes "mouse jumps". This is not some hacker taking over your mouse (as I got a frantic call from someone about) it's that the palm of your hand is doing it whilst not noticing.
**The trackpad might be automatically disabled upon a mouse being plugged in as well, so you might need to remove the mouse to try to see if the tracking is on the right side.0
