Hi Guys,
About 10 years ago I was at college and working part time as a chef (i was working around 12 hours a week) when I bought a laptop from Toys R Us on finance from GE Capital Bank to help with my studies.
Anyway being a daft student I had no idea what PPI was but for what ever reason I ticked the box on the agreement form after the person on the till offered it to me.
Now looking back I don't remember what he/she said to me on the counter but am I right in thinking that being a student and not having a full time job, I therefore shouldn't qualify for PPI insurance?
Please correct me if i'm wrong as I'll be owed a small fortune!
KR's,
Niki

You won't because they weren't regulated pre Janaury 2005.
They can dismiss your complaint.
There's nothing stopping you trying though but yes, you shouldn't have had it becasue it wouldn't have paid out and you can't rely on the financial advice of a salesman for toys r us.
If toys r us decine your complaint, then you complain to the underwriter.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Damn!
Thanks for responding anyway!0 -
Well, GE have been quite generous in some cases, so complain anyway.
You do hjave to be rejected by toys r us first to complain to the underwriter though.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Thanks buddy!0

I think the complaint should be against whoever ticked the box. If that was an employee of Toys R Us, complain to Toys R Us. If it was an employee of GE Capital Bank, complain to GE Capital Bank.
If it was A N Other then complain to A N Other as it is their fault.0
