Best Park & Ride Into London From North, Staying Teddington?

Just a quick question about what would be the cheapest/easiest place to park & ride in to central London? I would be coming from the North (M1 or M40) and then continuing (driving) to Teddington. Perviously I have parked in Finchley but that's when I've stayed in north London.

Nearest tube stations are probably Richmond or Hounslow ones. It looks like Teddington is in zone 6 of the London overground train route and trains go from there to Waterloo so if the station is is within easy walking distance of where you are staying I would just use that. 40 minute journey according to www.tfl.gov.uk journey planner. You can use Oyster or a zone1-6 travelcard for your journey.

Edit: just checked the oyster single off peak fare finder and it is £4.90 per single journey from Teddington To Waterloo and the zone 1-6 daily off peak Travelcard is £8.90 so better to get that. Richmond is in zone 4 and and off peak 1-4 TC is £7.70 or single off peak fare £2.70. It looks like it has a small car park and rates are quite high at £14 a day or £4 after 4pm so Teddington looks the easier and cheaper option.

You could also use a TC to go from Teddington to Richmond as it is only two stops and change onto the district line tube to get places. If you are not walking distance it seems Teddington car park has only 8 spaces so no real use but if you go on google maps, put in TW11 9AA and click on street view there seems to be parking pay and display parking only between 8.30-10.30am. There seems to be a Travelodge beside the train station on googlemaps streetview so if you go on Tripadvisor there are probably some tips about parking in the area and travel into London.
