This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

Good morning everyone
Exhausted after a sleepless night worrying about today and the meeting. Thanks so much everyone for the kind words and will try and report back later on how it went.
DH training tonight so usual Wednesday night dinner of salmon and stir fry. He has a tuna and bean salad for lunch and I have a beanless salad!
Did manage some listings on ebay last night so just need to try and keep it up now, 3 a day is the aim to utilise the free 100 x 99p listings per month.
One week to DH's payday and desperately trying to make a little payment each day to endowment shortfall and still stay just about solvent. Need to fill up with diesel and that should leave enough for any top up bits of shopping we need but it's going to be tight this month.
Well wishes to all sick people and pets and hugs for anyone who needs them or just wants them. Keep well and safe and have a super dayLBM 10/1/12 ~ DFW Start 6/2/12: £82,344 ~ Now Zero:staradmin:starmod::staradmin Debt free 17th April 2015 :staradmin:starmod::staradmin

I may go for a walk and look for blackberries. My normal walk i go on, the blackberries are still not ready. I will detour and go somewhere else.
Tea tonight is leftover chicken. Not sure what to do with it yet. I may make a curry.
I hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Good Morning everyone :j
Well it's a bit drizzly here today and I'm swamped with washing so unfortunately it will have to be tumbled ( she says rubbing her hands in glee that I won't have to iron now!) Just sent hubby off to work, he's eight weeks into his training now and seems to be getting on very well. I have everything crossed that they take him on permanently at the end of the twelve week probation period. Having a regular wage coming in has made such a difference to us after being on benefits for more years than I care to mention.
School holiday boredom has set in here with lots of outbreaks of squabbling and fighting so today the plan is to keep them busy blitzing the house and if they do a reasonable job without too many arguments, I'll take them to the Milky Way on friday which is a local attraction where they will hopefully burn off some of their energy.
Eldest DD has her theory test today so everything is crossed for her to pass. I'm taking the evil kittens to the vets later for their vaccinations. One of them seems to have grown testicles  so my 2 little girls are now a girl and a boy! Oh well, it will be a bit cheaper to have him neutered anyway :rotfl:Old fat cat has disappeared, we let him out for a wee on Monday night and he never came back. I am so worried but trying to hide it from the girls although I do have a little weep when no one is around. We have looked all around the estate and asked neighbours but no one has seen him. I suspect he went off to die quietly on his own but I just need to know where he is.
Anyway, got to keep on keeping on as my gran used to say. Hope everyone manages to have a good day. TTFTM, good luck with your meeting, I shall be thinking of you.
Gentle hugs available to all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x0 -

Morning all,
Nice bright day here, got a load of towels in the wm and another to follow, should all dry well today.
DD and I made 2 x banana loaves and 2 x victoria sponge yesterday , to take over the road for the funeral tea later , just need to out the cream on the sponges with some jam, I will do a quiche this morning and something for their dinner tomorrow. Will be a tough day for them and I would like to help in anyway possible, funeral is this afternoon we will all go to show support, my OH is coming home at lunch time I suspect it will be hard for him too.
Need to have a quick tidy round and have a shower this morning, and make sure we all have smart clothes ready, (this is particularly hard for my OH who is a carpenter and spends his life in scruffy clothes / jeans, but I have found a new / smart pair of jeans and a nice shirt, which I am sure will do, they wont be looking at him anyway.
I bought some hm chicken kiev from the butcher yesterday, so will have those tonight need something quick ish, will do some wedges and peas with it.
TTFTM hope today goes as well as it can xx
FS how is your DD now ? xx
Dumpling I hope you either find fat cat or find out what has happened bless him xx
Have good days all xx0 -
Morning all,
Cool and damp here.
It's bin day and DH grabbed all the recycling sacks in a hurry. He was surprised the binmen left the sack of tetra packs behind - they have to go to the recycling centre - so I'm wondering if we'll get the nasty letter about getting recycling right. (Do it too often and the council will prosecute... oooh er!)
This morning I shall be ironing and watching a nice DVD. Then we go to the hospital to find out the results of DH's 6 month scan - fingers crossed he is still clear. I need another blood test so will take the chance while we're there.
Have the best day you can, xI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
rr, hope the funeral goes as well as it can. It is going to be tough for the family concerned. Hope you OH is ok. It has been tough for him too. I will be thinking of you all. x Thankyou for asking after my dd. She had a dermatology appointment yesterday, they have now signed her off. The Dr said that if there is still no improvement with hair/lashes/brows in six months time, we are to go back to our gp to get him to refer her again. They will then give steroid injections again. I did ask if the Dr thought maybe the alopecia could be connected to the carcanoid tumour that she had. Dr seems to think it would be highly unlikely.
luxor4t, hope your DH's scan goes ok today xJan GC £298.62/£300 Feb £298.01/£300 March £331.06/£300 April £69.96/£300

Redruby thinking of you all today!
Dumping hugs, our cat was missing for days and we thought she was a goner, turned out one of the neighbours had accidentally locked her in their garage!
Ah its so peaceful, the schools went back today ! I think I will go for a stroll in the park, at least I will get a space in the carpark now!
Need to find something for dinner, and do some ironing as DD goes away to Florida at the end of the month and if ironed her clothes might just fit in the case!!!!
Have a good day all!RIP Iain
