Cabot ignoring me

A while back I got Barc to agree that they should have defaulted my account in 2010 and they have since updated the records with the correct date. I have asked Cabot, who bought the debt in 2011 to update their file as well but they seem to be ignoring me. I am writing again tomorrow.
It's sad I think that they would do this. It's a 1997 credit card and there is little or no chance they have an enforceable credit agreement so why push me? All I want is them to update my file correctly. If they refuse and keep up with the late markers then it's ICO complaint / CCA / dispute / no money for them etc. Depressing really.

I know just how you feel as I have also had dealings with this company and I am sure others on here have too.
For me, they moved my part settled account to a different address rather than leaving it on my former address and tried to re-open it. I also had a huge battle with them to get them to change the status from default to partially settled. I had to get the FOS involved to get to that stage. Cabot lie and say they never received your communication even after sending post by special delivery.
Just this last week, I received an alert from Equifax which said "one of your accounts has recently had a caution flag added, amended or deleted. The addition of this flag is an indication to the lender that a new risk is present." Cabot then changed the account type from credit card to loan.
What possible new risk can there be to an account that's closed and showing a partial settlement at the date of my discharge?
The advice from my posting and experience - watch Cabot, watch them every couple of months and like fermi has said, involve the FOS as it hits them hard with fees (around £500) for dealing with the FOS. Needless to say that my own query has been opened again with the FOS.
Good luck! They really are snakes in the ground. I hope you get sorted.0 -
