Problems after bathroom fitting

Hello,

My mother in law has had a new bathroom fitted. We have had many many problems the work overall was terrible.

We wrote to the company who have fixed most of the work.

They have however still problems with the flooring. It isnt the flooring they ordered and its very rough and fitted incorrectly. It is floor tiles.

We have wrote to the company to ask them to rectify this but they are refusing. The work overall has taken more than 6 months and has caused my mother in law alot of stress and illness through worrying. Nothing had been rectified until I stepped in.

I have requested the companies insurance details so we can claim for the floor but they are refusing to give this.
I have asked them to rectify the floor but again they refuse.
I have also asked for their solicitor details as they now say we have to communicate through them but 7 days later we havent recieved these details.

What next step can we take? Can anyone please advise what we need to do now?

Many thanks Helen

This won't be covered by their insurance as it is a workmanship issue, rather than damage caused by their negligence.

Does your MIL have legal cover on her home insurance as thi may be the first port of call.

Alternatively try trading standards or instruct a solicitor.
