Returning from USA Question

When you come back passport control is a quick 30 second passport check, but you can be queuing for quite a while before its your turn, I waited two hours once at Gatwick which then caused problems further on as everyones luggage was then delayed so it took a good four hours to get out of the airport.

As said its impossible to tell how long that will take. If you land on time an hour maybe enough (prob would be) but its a big if.

I wouldnt be buying a non flexible ticket an hour after scheduled arrival, I would prob risk 3 hours

The Heathrow / Manchester flight arrives at the domestic terminal - no immigration, no passport control, etc and on our last flight 90% of the passengers were returning from business meetings, etc in London so only had hand baggage.

We always try and get an internal flight when travelling via Heathrow so we arrive at the domestic terminal having once spent 3 hours getting out of Heathrow.
