Ib/is to esa very confused

Can someone please help. My oh has been on ib and is for many years. I work 16 hours and it is deducted from my oh claim( that was the way benefits advisor told us to do it when i went back to work).
Esa 50 arrived and we filled in(another horror story) which had to be back by 14 th and was back by 8 th. we have a 13 yr old, 2 oldest flew the nest 18 months ago, and we live in 3 bed local authority home. This morning a letter arrived to say we are getting child tax credits from 20 th august .(£64 a week) We are confused because we have had no letter from dwp about incap or anything else, so what does child tax credits actually replace, and what else will we get on 20 th august, will we be worse off, do we inform housing benefit, and if we no longer get income support does that mean we no longer get free school dinners etc. very stressed and very confused at the moment head is about to explode. Thank you

I suspect no decision has yet been made about your ESA as it was only recently.

As IB is not means tested I can only presume that you were getting an IS top-up and that was cut when you started work.

No idea re child tax credits other than did you get money on the IB claim for children as ESA doesn't so child tax credits pay.

Sorry I can't be more help.:(

Hi thank you for your reply. We claimed for us with a child ,there is IB,IS, and sick/ disabled amount, then they reduced it by "amount of money coming in" which gave us our weekly amount. So is other half still on IS until they let us know otherwise, we still dont know how much ,if anything more, is going to be paid, we are in trouble if this is it:(

Yes still on IB/IS until they tell you otherwise and it could be some time especailly if a 'medical' is needed.
