Hi,
I took out a TSB Trustcard credit card around 1987/8 and was paying a monthly fee for protection should I find myself out of work. Well in 1998/9, I did find myself out of work. I tried to make a claim and was told I couldn't as I was self-employed and therefor was not covered by the policy. I have since closed the account sometime after.
During a paperwork blitz clearout all details of the account that I had have gone. The account was closed some time ago, before all the fuss about PPI came to light. I thought I was not eligible to make a claim as it was too old. I do feel now that I should make a claim, yet TSB have been taken over by Lloyds.
I take it that I must write to Lloyds TSB in the first instance, requesting the account details and then follow the reclaim prceedure set out on the site.
Anybody have any pointers and experience dealing with an old account, thaat would help my claim?
Regards

You don't need old details if you already have the account number and if you don't have your own records, the chances of them having any from 25 years ago is unlikely. You can send a SAR to see but if you have statements to show what you paid there's no need to send it. As I said though, they are not likely to have 25 year old records from a company that's been absorbed.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0
