In our old address we got constantly harassed by people I knew from school and there mates because of me been autistic. That was the only reason they give and they told me they got my information from 192.com which 192 claim I was never on the site because they only have access to the edited version of the register NOT TRUE as I opted out but yet my information was there I seen it with my own eyes. Fast forward to when we move house we are told its now a legal requirement to be on the voters roll and that I can register anonymously. So fill in the paper work the council rejects the application and puts us on the full register but opts us out of the edited register. So I contact 192.com and ask they to not put our information on there site they are very snotty and blame call credit for there error last time. So It looks like I need to check there site everyday till my information goes live on there and have the form ready to post so its not on there long. However I urgently need to know if there is other sites like this I need forms ready for also as I can not have my information on the net to start getting harassed again

It is a legal requirement to be on the electoral roll and it can't be anonomous other than in a few very specific cases Has the council confirmed that you were on the edited list?
Are you sure though that people really bothered to search for you on the internet just to harass you?Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

I would say if people are contacting you to harass/bully you they may not necessarily tell you the truth about how they found out your details.
However 192.com gets it data from various sources
If you opt out of the edited register, and have never been on the edited register at a particular address then you shouldn't show on 192.com as a result of being on the electoral roll.
If you have a BT landline in your name you also need to ensure that you are ex directory to ensure that 192.com don't include your details from that source.
Finally if you are a company director and have that address as your registered address you could also appear on the 192.com database.
If you find your details do appear on the database I would write to them and ask them to remove your details. If the police have previously been involved in relation to harassment you may also want to put that in any letter to 192.comA smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Thanks guys, when we registered at our old address the door knockers where the ones who registered us so although I asked her to exclude us from the edited register maybe she made a mistake as we did definitely appear on 192.com. At my new address I took charge and filled in the forms myself so I know I have put on there not to be on the edited register. So I know there is a few sites that has this information but I can not remember the names of the others only 192 I remembered am I right in thinking I would be listed on any of them due to the action I took? All our phones are ex directory.0
