Housing benefit & newly self empl

Im newly self employed and partner works part time.

Im ending my single claim for benefit today and then reapplying as a joint claim with partner this week.

The claim asks for self empl accounts but only been up and running for couple of months as a single trader. Can I just take in my own written account for that time?

The council have a form you need to fill out called a SE1 and SE2.
With these forms you can estimate your profit and they will base your claim on your estimate and review your claim every three months until you have your first year accounts.
  • Are you a self employed writer by any chance selling ebooks on Amazon?
These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.
