Oooppsss daughter (I blame her) has broken the only available key we had inside the driver's door lock. What is the precedure to get a second one from Peugeot (405 #J# Reg), costs and time taken to receive replaqcement. Many thanks for your suggestions.

Not sure if this helps. Why dont you call up your nearest Peugeot garage and ask them how much and how long0 -
If you give them a key number this may help.Behind every great man is a good womanBeside this ordinary man is a great woman£2 savings jar - now at £3.42:rotfl:0

surgical tweezers may get the stub out. or cut 2 hacksaw blades down to suit. i did this recently with a front door lock yale key.
and a key shop can marry the 2 bits together and cut a new key.Get some gorm.0 -
Of you may be able to get a welder to put a tiny spot weld on the remaining bit of the key to allow you to pull it out.0

I did this last year, but the key was jammed in the lock and wouldn't come out. I called the AA out (as I was out shopping!) who took the door to pieces, but couldn't do it, my Dad also tried WD40, which normally does the trick. (it didn't!)
It's a Vauxhall, and the dealer did get another key for me, a key alone was £60, the lock was around £150. eek! It took about 2 days.0 -
Litlle bit of super glue? Or sometimes you can push the key out if you can get to the back of the lock? The measure of love is love without measure0

Yeh as said a tiny dab of super glue then push the remaining key in. If you're lucky, it'll pull the rest out. If that doesn't work then you another way is to drill a small hole (like 2mm) in the back of the local barrel then push the remaining key out with a piece of wire.
If you get the bit out, take the 2 parts to a decent keycutter/locksmith. Cost me £15 to get 2 copies of the broken key made up0 -
I pay £9 PER YEAR for car key insurance.
Lost the car keys to one car and they paid out a £500 bill (one key with remote buttons was £290 !!) AND gave me a hire car for 2 days whilst it was sorted out.
A bargain if you ask me!
Doesn't affect your no-claims either.British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
