Any particular cards you would recommend?
It's only to spend £50 on and pay off every month.0 -
i would try Barclaycard Initial and Capital One Classic.
You wont get a good rate on them, but if you paying off in full then it wont make a difference0 -
Great, Thanks for all your help.0

Are you saying that you had an overdraft that you agreed to pay back by a certain time and didn't pay it back by that time? The only thing it could be is my overdraft wasn't paid back in full. I seem to remember that happenning for the one a year ago, but as for 62 months ago? Anyones guess.
Or just that you were overdrawn for longer than _you_ think you should have been, within your limit, at some point?
Because if it is the second of these, that won't count as a late payment as far as I am concerned.
Generally a credit report is split into sections (credit cards, loans, other accounts) and the name of the organisation is listed within them. Which section is the late payment in? What organisation?
If it is your bank account then I suggest you contact your bank and find out what it was for.
Sometimes these things do have mistakes on them, so it is worth checking.0 -
Do your bank statements show healthy, regular income coming in to your account?Another thing potentially setting me back is that i am self employed, have been for close to 2 years. Never slipped into the red on my bank account since.
In general a credit card company won't be able to see that. But if you apply for a card with your own bank they will be able to look at how you manage your current account. If this shows you in good light that might be a better plan than going elsewhere.
I don't know if it is possible to make an appointment at your branch and ask them what your chances are of getting one?0 -
I've already tried that about a year ago and they turned that down. HSBC are pretty tight with this.
Yes there is a lot of money coming in and out of my account through wages and business.0
