You can't remember how you applied for it, you can't remember if the box was pre-ticked, you don't know if it was sent to you to sign or you signed on the premises?
Basically, you can't remember how it was sold. Your best bet is to show you didn't need the protection, you could have afforded the repayments in some other way with good sick pay, with another income or with savings or that it wouldn't pay out if you needed it due to a pre exisiting condition or onerous self employment terms.
You can't tell them it was a pre ticked box if they can show you applied in the shop, or that you applied over the phone and agreed to pay the PPI.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
Hi Taff thanks for the advice, after a lot of thought it was not applied for in branch or online, the agreement does look like it was printed and used as a guide when filling in the application. on my personal details have been typed and sent for me to sign, where they typed my name address etc they have placed a cross in the box next to title. this is the same size and font as my personal details they entered. the cross already in the box asking to be ticked if I wanted PPI is different in size and font so I think it is clear to see it was orignally there from print.as we know before the year 2000 some banks used pre marked boxes which I beleive is the case here. thanks0
