We're considering letting our place out. There's no shortage of people that are happy to pay £600 a month to rent something that would only cost £450 to buy, may as well exploit it.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Is buying up scarce but essential resources for the overall good?
a property being owner occupier or rented is still being used in similar ways
indeed in general, owner occupier houses have a lower occupational level than rented.
how is the change of ownership a 'moral' issue
is a council or housing association property immoral?0 -

Is the house price debate part of the forum now finished replaced by the 'debate how nice people are' forum?0

If you have the financial resources to do that it seems like a good thing to do, making the property available to those who may be unable or unwilling to buy themselves. We're considering letting our place out. German landlords tend to be corporation who actually build the properties and rent out as a long term business. They tend not to just buy up what is already a limited supply of property.
62% of the total rental sector in Germany is provided by small private landlords. Corporations are responsible for 17%.
