Failure of low energy bulbs - problem with electrics?

A low energy bulb failed in our bathroom after only two years or so. This was just around the time that the shower isolator switch was changed. So yesterday we bought a Philips low energy bulb to replace it. This failed after only a couple of uses. Meanwhile other bulbs work with it (notably a Tungsten one).
Is this more likely to be a bulb problem or something with the electrics?

There is no possible connection with the shower isolator. The shower will be on it's own dedicated circuit, and the light will be part of the 6A radial lighting circuit for that floor. Or it should be! If someone has spurred the light off the shower circuit, it's potentially lethal. Highly unlikely, but easily checked by tripping out the shower circut at the CU and seeing if the light still works. No free lunch, and no free laptop

I've had short lifespans from low energy bulbs caused by loose connections. The base of the bulbs have electronics in them which I suspect become damaged. If you are competent, checking for loose connections should be straightforward.0

The low energy (LED) bulbs that I buy have a 3 year warranty.
And yes they do replace them & they will also pay the return postage !!0 -

So this is in a room with lots of moisture?
That could be your problem.
I have seen a few CFL's with warnings on the box not to use them in bathrooms due to the high levels of moisture.0 -

Philips have an excellent warranty on light bulbs which they do honour. Worth contacting them.If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!

Not taking a pop, just hadn't seen that warning, but the bulbs are electronic and we know that mixing with water isn't good;)
But I have to say the 2 oldest bulbs I have are in the batten mounted outside light, and the garage auto opener, both exterior?????I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
