so what am I missing?
You are missing the fact that at this time of the year your gas consumption is only a fraction of how much it will be later in the year.
The average bill these days is £1,300pa(say £110 a month) so £77 is low even allowing for the fact you are on your own. Also heating bills will depend on the insulation standards of the property and efficiency of your boiler.
Also 3 months - May to August is not really long enough to conclude you 'shouldn't be using anywhere near £77 a month'0 -
As above. It's perfectly normal to use 75% of your annual gas consumption in the coldest 3 months of the year.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I have used 70.00 of lpg jun - aug, but I used just over 2000.00 dec - feb. That can be the sort of variable possible.0
