Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

More info - what are your interests. Munich, Berlin, Hamburg, Bremen, Nuremberg, Mainz, Osnabruck, Essen and Hanover all have their attractions,The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. Terry Pratchett

Berlin for a first time visit to Germany I'd suggest. If only for the history, but its also got countryside, architecture, shopping, bars, nightlife, sport etc. Wish I was back living there.....0

Actualy add Aachen (Aix-Le-Chappelle in English) to my list, beautiful historic city and nice people (they are a sort of mix of low countries, German and French) and if you get fed up with the Germans a 30 minute train journey or drive and you can be in Holland or Belgium. The truth may be out there, but the lies are inside your head. I second that. Very interesting place.Berlin for a first time visit to Germany I'd suggest. If only for the history, but its also got countryside, architecture, shopping, bars, nightlife, sport etc. Wish I was back living there.....I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
You can't spend just a weekend in Berlin! That's a waste of plane money... I was there for 6 days and still feel I didn't see/do all I wanted.
Munich's too big for a weekend too. Koln and Stuttgart might be ok for 2-3 days.
(I really can't understand people who go 10-15 days to stare at a pool but then spend 2 days in a city full of things...)Being brave is going after your dreams head on0 -
All of the German cities I have been to had their charms except Frankfurt which I didn't like at all. Berlin and Munich are the obvious choices but Dusseldorf and Stuttgart are fairly interesting too. I'd just play around with the booking sites to see what flight+hotel deals pop up.0

Cologne is a lovely city as well. Quite a compact city centre. The view from the top of the cathedral is amazing on a good day.0

First time visitor it has to be Berlin. You won't get round everything but you don't have to. There is no law that says you visit every single attraction. But Berlin has the most and has the history. You won't regret it.0
