We did it - We're mortgage free!

After much faffing around trying to get cheques from building socities, we have finally been and paid off the mortgage!

As of 9:57am we were mortgage free. It feels wonderful, and I just wanted to post to encourage all those who are working towards being mortgage free to keep chipping away at it. It's amazing how quickly it comes down when you keep paying off little amounts. For us, we have saved around £90k in interest payments. :-)

Time for a celebration I think!

    Thanks!

I have no idea what we'll spend the money on, we have everything we want and need... I expect we will invest some, save some... It's like having a 30% pay rise!

  • Congratulations! I love hearing these stories. Hope you don't mind my being a bit nosy here but I do have a question - Were you devoting a lot of energy and focus to paying off the mortgage? - and if so, where do you think you will channel this now? I have become a bit obsessed about figures and not spending and I am wondering how being mortgage free affects others - not just re not spending money but about what you will focus on (if that makes sense?!)

    Well done again :j

If you have a talent, use it in every which way possible. Don't hoard it. Don't dole it out like a miser. Spend it lavishly like a millionaire intent on going broke.

 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
