Freelancing while claiming JSA/HB/CTB

Hello there!
I've been claiming JSA, housing benefit and c-tax benefit for nine months. Happily, I've now landed a small amount of freelance journalist work; two articles, which will take more than 16 hours to complete. Once that's done, I'll be pitching for more work, but will have no guarantee of getting it. I will not be paid a great deal of money.
THE QUESTION - I assume I will need to stop my JSA claim, and then start a new one. Will this also stop my HB and CTax claim? If not, how will they calculate deductions? I'm highly unlikely to see any payment from this work for at least six weeks, so I'm quite concenred about how this is going to affect my budget.
