O2 Lowell Portfolio - amount of default/query

Hi guys, currently reviewing all the items on my credit report to try and improve my future outlook!
My first question for you all is about a default from O2 -
Basically, I was a student and missed 2 payments for a phone contract. O2 subsequently cancelled the contract, billed me for the remaining months (£300+), slapped a charge on the bill and sold the debt..
Currently I am with the CCCS (or their new name) paying off each month, the balance of that is now £101. Am I in any position to write to them and ask them to remove the default if I pay in full?
Unfortunately they wouldn't accept back payment at the time, so I couldnt get the contract reinstated.
All help is appreciated, thanks!

The answer is no. You state that O2 sold the debt and therefore have placed a Default on your credit file which will remain there for six years from the date you defaulted. As time goes by, it will be less of an issue with certain creditors. You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)0
