Gumtree/preloved/friday ads

thought i post a thread to see into the weird and wonderful world of the gumtree preloved etc users.

like the freecycle thread what is some on the strange things you have seen or been messaged about.

today i got a email first asking the price and then for photos of the item on gumtree (all there on the ad) i told him £12 and the photos are on there.
He then replied i buy you take £1 which i told him no it £12 and later he replied £1 only you take or me take for free.

also had people saying outside your house why wont you come out. dont know how they are outside my house when this is their first message to me and i dont share those details until i know the sale is going through

ive also had messages from removal companies saying they will take all the items im selling away if i pay them £40 plus petrol cost and £15 a hour.

I do not use freecycle anymore as it is full of wanted adds and if you put anything decent on you are inundated with emails and it takes so long to sift out the sob stories that it drains my iphone battery.

On gumtree I have had people pleading with me to post my lovely items as they can not find them any where else in the uk. They promise bankers drafts et al. :eek:

Gumtree buyers always start with a price drop question before they have even seen the item so i always give my lowest price before i meet them. One man tried bartering with me after he had agreed a price on a clothing bundle, he was quite aggressive and told me i was a wicked woman as he was going to post the clothes to Africa to help starving people.

I always get questions like where are you when there is a map on the advert? :cool:

Preloved i have never ever had a reply or interest from anything i have posted on there.

Facebook pages are a relatively new buying selling experience for me but another drain on the battery trying to find the decent stuff among the carp
