Is quickly becoming a warning that you should not shop at any establishment that uses Parking eye if you are driving.
Drivers need to wise up very quickly, turn around, leave and shop elsewhere.
Go home and fire of an E-mail to the CEO of the company explaining what you did and why.
Or you can think it does not apply to you, that some how they will behave themselves and not pick on you.
If what you read on these forums is not warning enough then nothing may wake you up.

Do yourself a favour Boycott any business that uses this company, it is just not worth the risk.

  • Hi everyone

Everything has been reset after sending letter disclosing driver on the day in question.

I have received letter from PE asking for payment of parking charge (£100). If paid by 13/09/2013 this is reduced to £60.

Should I pay the £60 and put it down to experience?

Having read the threads in this subject, PE seem to have upped their game and are taking people to court tag lag. I have sent email to The Range with copies of store receipt for the day in question, heard nothing. What are my chances of a successful POPLA appeal?

I do feel strongly on this subject, I will NEVER again shop in any of these stores operating these car park management firms. I will not be driving to the nearby town to do any shopping, I will be shopping online where ever possible, I am sure it will save me lots of money (my husband thinks an initial payment of £60 to PE is superb value for money if it curtails my shopping habits, which were considerable).

I don't understand these stores, I work in retail and in the current climate we are doing everything within our powers to encourage customers. What are they thinking, how many people like me are they alienating. It is not only the stores in question who have lost my business, but the smaller shops I would have visited whilst I was in town. I hope they are reading these forums. MY SHOPPING HABITS HAVE BEEN CHANGED BY YOUR ACTIONS! I WILL NOT BE BACK!

NOPE, of course not! If you do you will have dragged defeat from the jaws of a likely victory! Why?!

Having read the threads in this subject, PE seem to have upped their game and are taking people to court...

Yes, but they can't with you now because you are going to win at POPLA, disputing the charge in the usual MSE style.

I have sent email to The Range with copies of store receipt for the day in question, heard nothing.

So if you are local enough, march into the actual Store, dressed smartly and in 'power heels', and assertively demand to have a word with the Store Manager. Take your recent receipts with you and all the rubbish threatograms received so far and plonk them down on the desk and ask if he/she wants to lose your business or are they going to cancel the fake parking ticket and harassment?

DO NOT MENTION that you have already emailed Head Office, instead put the onus on the store Manager to cancel the thing. They can do so with one phone call if the Range are the only store on site and if the PPC are their agent. If that's not the case, aim the complaint at the Retail Park Management firm instead. NOW.

What are my chances of a successful POPLA appeal?

We are running at a very healthy 100% victory rate for forum-assisted POPLA appeals made since April. :):)

  • Hi, thanks for your comments.

Here is part of an earlier post about my visit to the store.

Went to The Range today, spoke to Manager showed my receipt. He fobbed me off said it wasn't within his powers to cancel the parking charge despite me stating that I understood he could do just that. He told me only Head Office could do that so I asked for a phone number for Head Office. When I rang the number I got CUSTOMER SERVICES who also told me they were unable to cancel the charge because the car park was owned by PE and it was nothing to do with them. I tried to point out that as it was a car park for their customers it was everything to do with them. They told me to forward receipt to PE, which I understand is futile.

Waste of Petrol, waste of breath, waste of time.

As you can see, it was unsuccessful!

No - do try sending a copy of your receipt to PE and tell them that you were advised to do this by The Range Head Office (the Principal in the contract). This has definitely worked in the past, from personal experience - the person I was helping off-forum - did this and received a cancellation, despite having received a Letter Before Action.

Despite the ire directed at PE (including from me), there is a better 'return' on sending redacted bank/credit card statements and/or receipts to PE than from any other PPC.

I think with referencing The Range Head Office you might be pushing at a slightly open door. Do it, you've nothing to lose.

Do let us know how you get on.

  • What if . . .

. . . I write to PE naming myself as driver, they re-issue Parking
Charge Notice addressed to me, I write disputing charge and requesting POPLA code, and they send code back to RK not me?

Don't want to say too much about the above if, as has been said previously, PE monitor these forums. If the above scenario were to occur, would it change things.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Have you sent off receipts to Parking Eye yet as in my advice in post #27?
