Victorian Terrace which walls are load bearing?

Agree. I have a 3 floor Victorian terrace. All internal walls are stud. Hall wall is load bearing as it has to support upper floor joists and some of the staircase.
OPs best bet is to find a local builder, preferably one that has worked on similar houses in the area to theirs and get an opinion.0 -

The stairs are next to the party wall of the terrace, rest at the top on the sturdy main rear wall and 3 ft away from the hallway walls. The joists run front to back not side to side so are not resting on the hallway wall either.0 -
The houses in my row sell infrequently and no one has has done any knock throughs in the hallway.
Next door have an archway in between their front and back rooms but no one on the street has taken out the hallway wall. Many of the people in the street have been living here 25+ years and would never consider structural alteration. Not because of structural obstacles but more that they wouldn't want their home disrupted that much in their retirement. There are a few slightly younger families in the street (with older children), but most have been there at least 15 years and not planning any major work.
I have seen one local house do something similar but that house has sold to a new owner. The house is an older Victorian (mine is 1896) so has different construction and features. Most likely built by a completely different team. This house also removed two of the rear reception rooms walls so it was completely open plan.
I just don't think I can afford that!0
