Help re road tax without log book

Options
I've just bought a car without road tax today from a private seller. I've insured the car but will I be able to tax it without the full log book? I have the new keepers page.

Also, will the post office accept my new insurance details on my phone as I don't have a printer?

As far as I know, it is possible to tax it on the keepers page of the V5. I doubt the PO will accept anything less than a paper copy though.

You can tax it on-line or at a post office using the green New Keeper Supplement.
  • I can't do it online, tried that.

You will need to print your insurance off then. The PO are very unlikely to accept the details from your phone.
  • Ok, thanks so much. Will pop to library to print off

Any Post office that issues taxdiscs will be able to do it with the slip, your insurance and mot if needed.

Best be quick with the local DVLA office, they are all to close this year.
