O.P just tell the G.Ps receptionist you dont want an appointment with DR X because hes incompetant regarding your difficulties and that you need to see one of the other DRs instead. If they wont accomodate you ask for a copy of the complaints procedure and say that you are going to complain as you think hes not fit to do the job. Also say that you will also complain to his professional body. They will find you another Dr trust me.

Does Not mean that GP would issue a fit note. Each have their own idea, mine treats like sweeties to children after a jab, others vary.

Your post conveys your distress, may I make a few suggestions:
Your sick note will tell you when it is due to run out. As soon as you get it make an appointment, straight away, for a few days before it is due to expire, and then mark the date and time on your calendar.
The surgery should have a practice manager. Have a word with him/her about the appalling attitude of the doctor that you saw.
It is very difficult to motivate yourself when you feel that all hope has gone. MIND, or the citizens advice bureau, may be able to help you to put a letter together. This could help you to take some control back, little by little.
ATOS are frequently wrong! I accompanied someone to an appeal last week and the original decision was overturned immediately.
Make enquiries about appointing a personal representative who can accompany you to meetings, appointments, and/or prompt you when you need to be doing something.
Hope is never gone, but it does become hidden by FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real). You WILL get better, one day at a time. As for those who hinder rather than help :mad:: avoid them. I wish you well, and send you a double helping of HOPE.

Thanks for the hope - managed to get things sorted. Feel a bit of an idiot for posting now.
Jemma T - I'm usually very good with money, but my bit put away was wiped out by an HB error some while back (hopefully being sorted) and I also had a chunk of dosh stolen... weird/long story!

Now lets hope I can figure out a way to self-employment and get away from Atos et al for ever!

Our local council has a professional who works with people wanting to start their own business. Great help, as this person also knows what grants/funding is available. Try your council and see if you have one in your area. If not, the HMRC has a site with videos etc. Good luck with that; share the load; and don't put yourself under too much stress.
