what's slow, and how slow
try ie instead of firefox.
disable java quick starter, adobe arm, itunes helper using msconfig
tick and fix skype toolbar
if bootup is slow, try disabling windows update
the solution that always works is backup and reinstall from disc or factory restore partition!!

Slow to boot up and seems to take an age before responding to commands. A few minutes at least.
I'll do the skype tick and msconfig later when I get a chance, I'm not massively keen to go back to factory restore TBH as I'd then have to spend ages taking off the preloaded bloat...{Signature removed by Forum Team}0 -
factory restore and uninstalling a few bits of bloat is faster than looking for a needle in a haystack
apart from the apple/creative/java/firefox bloat, there's not much showing in the log, and the commit charge is relatively low.
run chkdsk c: /F
and create a new user profile
if it's still slow to boot, have a look at which process is hogging the cpu!!

What you suggested seems to have done the trick, much better. Thanks{Signature removed by Forum Team}0
