Photocell unit.....

Hi I bought a Lightronic photocell kit to allow me to leave an outside light switched on, and operate when it was light/dark.
When it was fitted it would not work with the led bulb fitted, however it worked with a low energy bulb.
Does any one know of a work round to solve this , or a photocell switch that will work with an led bulb?
thanks

The photocell you have is maybe traic operated and therefore, doesn't switch the LED lamp.
You should try and find a photocell with a relay operated output.
Can you post a link to the photocell you purchased? If my post hasn't helped you, then don't click the 'Thanks' button!0 -

I've got the same photocell and it works fine with two 3W LED bulbs. Try using a slightly higher wattage bulb if yours is less than this.0

as if the unit is faulty :-(
has any one used a similar unit with a very low wattage bulb?

Just ensure whatever you use has a relay output and it will work fine.
This one looks like it does use a relay:

I've got this one and although I normally use it with two 3w LEDs, I can confirm that it stil works with a single 3w led. I can still hear it clicking on and off even with no bulb in.
