Halifax Clarity CC

So i am off to the states on holiday, following the advice on the forums i have got myself a Clartiy card for purchases etc.
How do i go about getting some cold hard cash, surely taking money from a cash machine is not a good option even with this card?
thanks for your help

It's how I get almost all my foreign cash now. You pay no fees and get the best exchange rate, the only thing you need to deal with is the interest charge on the money withdrawn which starts straight away for cash withdrawals.

What I do is schedule a transfer of £x amount for the day I am landing. I withdraw the local equivalent of £x when I arrive. Then if it is a longer trip I am will use on-line banking to transfer over £s if I want to withdraw more cash.

Means I don't have to take all the money I need on a longer holiday with me and end up with little if any interest charges.

The advice on the forums, and mse.com, is to use the credit card. There is little point in getting the Clarity credit card if you're going to take cash with you as well....

If you clear the credit card balance quickly after withdrawing interest charges are minescule and your exchange rate is very favourable.

I'd still recommend looking to use the card to purchase goods and service more than withdraw cash, but it's still great value for cash.

The only thing to look out for in the USA is ATMs that charge a fee for withdrawals. Not all do, but if you can't find a free one avoid doing several small withdrawals - one big one will cost the same.
