Parcel Monkey Rip Off!!

Hi I wonder if anyone can help me on my rights with this one

My husband and I were doing up a property for my grandparents and we purchased a shower enclosure from an online company Betterbathrooms .com

when we came to install the shower enclosure we realised there was no shower tray and so contacted the supplier who told us it was not included and it was an additional extra.
we knew we could get enclosure and tray as a package cheaper elsewhere so we decided to return the enclosure to BB.com who said as it had been longer than 30 days ( we did take a bit of time to complete the renovation) they would credit our online account for the value of the returned shower cubicle and as we planned on updating our bathroom at home we were ok with this as we knew we would use the credit

BB.com do not arrange for returns you have to do this yourself and pay for the return
I arranged a return with parcelmonkey.com and paid £40 and they collected on 24/04/13

I have the consignment no etc etc and off it went

I recently tried to use up my credit with BB.com who called me to say they never received my return

I know its been a while but I just assumed that it was credited to my account so I didnt check

I contacted parcel monkey using their online help section as they do not have a phone number and I have been asked for email address, consignment no, collection date, what the item was and delivery address all as separate questions and all days apart and I had given these details in my original email to them asking where my parcel was

I have now had 3 replies saying that as it has been longer than 7 days since collection and it is now out of their hands:mad::mad: and that I just have to accept that I have lost a £200 shower enclosure and paid £40 for a delivery that was never delivered

Sorry for the rant but I would appreciate it if anyone could steer me in the right direction regarding my rights on this matter

TIA

your rights are as per the terms you agreed to
You used PM because they are cheap
Its now near 4 months since you returned the item
every carrier has limitations on claims

    seems strange

order an item and never check it to see if all their,
wait over their sellers return cutoff (you have never said how long after delivery)
send it back using the cheapest courier
wait 4 months before checking to see if it had been delivered
then complain to courier after their claim cutoff date

I would have checked the goods when they were delivered and then you could have sorted a return etc straight away under the DSR
If i had to use a courier then use a reliable one or a site like parcel2go to compare the major couriers.
The courier option chosen would say like 3 to 5 days delivery, i would have checked after the 5 days and not wait 4 months.
  • 4 months? You're not going to see that money again, unfortunately this is your fault.

I didn't just go with the cheapest I have never used a courier before but when I searched online this company seemed reasonable and I thought the shoes came with the tray as it looked like this in the online photo so it was only when we realised it was extra that I sent it back as we could get a complete package!! I asked for helpful advice not criticism thank you

Was there no tracking given when you booked the service?
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • I do not know what to do anymore to get a refund from parcel monkey. We only received one email as confirmation. Could anyone advise what is the email sddress they received their confirmation from and also what appeared on the bank statement after the charged. They do not even recognise the email we regustered ourselves. I would appreciate any advice as I'm not being conned by them.
