Block paving problem

Options
I'm having block paving laid, and there seems to be a bit of an issue with the concrete surround of the drain where my roof gutters empty into.
Roof gutters come down drain pipe into a little metal grid, the whol lot surrounded by 3 sides of concrete maybe each side maybe 10cm wide by 15cm high.
I'd originally imagined kerbing replacing the concrete keeping in line with the feel of the drive. Installers are saying they can't fit kerbing in, (not enough space / too fiddly). and are suggesting a new thinner concrete surround or using drive blocks.
Has anyone else any suggestions?

The recognised authority on block paving is https://www.marshalls.co.uk they have a register of approved layers, which they also warrant their workmanship.

If your people are on the list, they should give you good avice. If not, perhaps Marshalls themselves can offer help.

Thats a good idea. I'd had a plan to paint it black (would match the part of the house it touches)
