Kärcher pressure washer - K4.99

Options
Hey folks,

Newb here, so hello to all!

I'm currently looking into buying a Kärcher pressure washer. Anyone have experience of the K4.99 model? I want to get a series-4 model, so that it can tackle challenging outdoor home-cleaning projects with ease. Thing is, this model doesn't have the detergent tank attached to the top of the machine (unlike Kärcher's K3.97 model). Instead, one attaches the hose to a bottle of detergent of one's choice (Kärcher's product), and then I'm guessing walk around with it when need to hose down with the detergent bottle. I'm worried about maneuvrability, needless to say, since I'd have to (correct me if I'm assuming wrongly) transport the detergent bottle around w/me wherever I want to spray down with detergent.

What do you think? Problemmatic?

My other choice of washer is a Bosch Aquatak 1500, also with 120 Bar Pressure, but I've heard from some users that Boschs leak from the spray wand and handle after a while. One good thing is that the Bosch cleaner has a metal pump, unlike the Kärcher with a plastic one.

Anyone, please give me your thoughts asap. Will really appreciate it !

I bought a Karcher K3.91MD+ during the wheel £99 from B+Q I took my Gran on Wednesday so we got the grab a granny discount too making it £90 it also came with a circular brush attachment in the box, some detergent disks, a cap and some wheel cleaner it was a WRC pack with a pic of the Focus WRC car on it.

The Karcher site says the 4.99 has a detergent tank but everywhere else says it is a suction hose for a separate tank. depending on the area your planning to clean I would go for a built in tank, moving everything over and over is a pain.

There is plenty of power in the 1700 watt 110bar washer, it was removing paint off a step that is painted white so my granddad can see it with just the vario lance on full. The Dirt blaster lance is awesome, just not as precise as the vario due to its circular pattern and the varios flat jet. I cleaned their whole path round the side of their house and at the back and the drive in about 90 minutes. including removing years of moss build up on one of the walls.

As for the detergent I didn't use the tank I doubt I ever will. I have bought the foam gun attachment to have a play with next time I wash my car.

Have you considered alternatives? I bought a B&Q own brand model (comes in a white box with 'Pressure Washer' on the side - minimal branding), for £23.44 just over a year ago. It is just as powerful, well made and robust. I have used it extensively with no problems. One thing to note is that the pressure quoted on the box was the mean not the maximum quoted by most manufacturers. When I read the instructions the maximum was 130bar - so pleasantly surprised.

At that price it is cheaper than hiring for a couple of days. Hope this helps.
