Returned goods potentially late, now no goods or refund

Hiya :-)
I know im going to sound ridiculously forgetful and dumb but still wanna double check where I stand.
In may (I kno..) I bought about £40 of clothes from a shop but their website instead of their store and everything was too small, even though ive bought from them before and sizes were fine.
The returns said to send back by recorded post within 2 weeks. I either got them there on the day, or possibly the day after the deadline. I had stuff going on with my childs health so I lost track of dates.
I havent to date had an email, a refund, nor the clothes back (figure I would have to pay postage again anyway).
So I just wondered really, im now £48 down and nothing to show for it. I know its my fault but is there anything I can do at all?
Thankyou x

Have you asked the store where your refund is? Did you return the parcel tracked?
Legally they either have to accept the goods and give you a refund, or take care of the goods until you arrange to collect them. But until you know they have them, that's not particularly relevant.
I'd just ask them where the refund is, as you returned the goods. Make no mention of the fact they may have been slightly late and see what they say.0 -
If you asked to return the goods under the DSR (and did this within the time period - is it still 7 working days?) then the retailer must refund you within 28 days, whether they have received the goods or not. If they have not, they can claim against you, but they can't withhold a refund.
If you just returned them under the store's own returns process, you may be at their mercySquirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -

It is 7 working days starting the day after delivery, but only if the retailer has informed the consumer (by durable medium) of their right to cancel. If they haven't done that then the 7 working day period will not start until the customer is informed (up to a maximum of 3 months)0 -

Surely if it was sent recorded, you must know the date that it was delivered on.
