A very close is going through the adoption process and I am named as one of her support references.
Has anyone here been through the interview and has any advice they can offer? What kind of questions are asked?
I believe my DD will be interviewed also so again if anyone knows what she can expect and wouldn't mind sharing can you please let me know?
Many thanks

Not quite the same, but I was once interviewed by a social worker because my ex husband wanted to adopt a baby with his new wife. The interview was done by telephone and they just basically wanted to know if he had ever been violent, if he was a good dad (to the children we have together) etc. To be honest, I got the impression that they had already made their mind up that it was a yes before they even phoned me. The SW spent a lot of time telling me how lovely my ex and his wife are, which is nice.
Hope your friend gets the go ahead.Grateful to finally be debt free!0 -
Hi
I am going through adoption at present. My references were asked about us as a couple. What we were like together. How we are with children, what qualities we have to offer etc. Also asked about our attitudes towards others, disability, race, sexuality etc. Social worker will know your friends well and just trying to get a feel that others have same opinion that they have. Mine looked for examples and my references spoke about little things that me and hubby do for each other etc.Yearly Grocery Budget - £100.77/ £3500. January Treats Budget - £11.80 / £100.0
