Will my wife's state pension be reduced when I receive mine?

Excuse me if my first post has already been answered, but I couldn't find an answer by searching.
It's simply that I am 65 soon and due my State Pension. My wife has been receiving her's for a number of years.
Will my wife's pension be reduced when I receive mine?
Nothing complicated to report - no kids, no benefits - my wife's pension earned via her own NI contributions.
It's just that, at the back of my mind, there's a thing called 'Married Woman's Allowance'?

No her pension will stay as it is. You will both be entitled to your own pension. I think the confusion is with those women who paid a reduced stamp and so don't get a pension in their own right.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Her pension may actually be due an increase (depending on how much she gets and how much you get).
(Its been a few years since I worked with State pensions.)I no longer work in Council Tax Recovery but instead work as a specialist Council Tax paralegal assisting landlords and Council Tax payers with council tax disputes and valuation tribunals. My views are my own reading of the law and you should always check with the local authority in question.0 -
TorryQuine has got it absolutely right. There is still a lot of confusion. If your wife received full SRP based on her own contributions then that will continue, independently of yours.Ær ic wisdom funde, ær wearð ic eald.

My query is very similar,my wife, who is older than me,has been receiving her pension for a number of years now,she doesn't get the full amount as she never paid the full stamp. At present she gets approx £330 per every 4 weeks.I have had a state pension forecast of £167 per week.Added together they total £250 per week,I understand that the married pension amount is £225 per week, does this mean they will reduce the total received to this sum?0

You will each get what you have earned in your own right and if that is more than the so-called 'married couple's pension', then that will continue.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -
Your wife is receiving a pension of £82.50 a week - this is much more than she would have received had she needed to claim on your contributions.http://www.savvywoman.co.uk/c7-pages/c7s1.php?art_id=2020
