Cheaper Energy Club.

Options
I've recently joined the club to see if I can find a cheaper energy supplier. Presently I'm with British Gas (Online Energy) and pay approximately £420 - £450 a year for both gas and electric, by direct debit.
I think what I am paying now is quite low compared to many. However, when I fed my details in to the Cheap Energy Club questionnaire, I have been given results that appear ridiculously low in terms of the amounts I can save, e.g. I was given information that if I switched to Ebico I would only have to pay about £118 a year for both gas and electric! Slightly more expensive I'm advised if I switch to Scottish Power I will probably only have to pay about £168 a year.
I cannot believe these amounts and I wonder if I have made a mistake in completing the questionnaire, but then at the top of the results page, my present details are reproduced as they should be - costs £420/year, Dual Fuel type, monthly direct debit - so I appear to have filled in everything correctly.
So can somebody please advise me - can I trust the results I have been given or is something seriously amiss?
Thank you.

How many kWhs of each fuel do the quotes translate to? Does that correspond to your actual usage?

Find out your own annual usage in kWhs and see what results are suggested (also plug in your three figures (post code, annual gas kWhs, annual electricity) on a comparison site - and check what single fuels with separate suppliers will cost).

Edit: btw, it is feasible you could nearly halve your bill as you will no longer pay the £150 or so standing charge. But as you suspect £118 is a little unlikely - even the most frugal user will find it tough to pay less than £200 nowadays.

Thank you Nada, will try that.:)
