Immersion heater or Combi Boiler?

Options
Hi, I've just bought my first flat and it would be great to get some advice on heating systems? The flat has an old immersion heater, along with a nice Gas stove that heats up the wee flat in no time. But! - it doesn't have a plumbed in shower.
Wondering if cheaper in the long run to save up and install a combi boiler and install a new shower. I've been quoted £1,350 to install a new electric shower (Including a new fuse box and re-tililng of the bathroom etc). Would it be cheaper to get rid of immersion heater and get combi boiler installed and simply run the shower from that? I think that would be about £4,000 in total - the flat is tiny, only three rooms to heat - so not sure I even need radiators.
Any advice greatly appreciated.:)
