Just ordered new suite

Just ordered a new 3 piece suite from our local dept store (on Saturday). When I got home I thought maybe I ordered the wrong colour. I always get nervous about colours of decor (don't know why). Paid a 10% deposit and he said he'd put the order through. It's probably going to fine, but do you think if I went down tomorrow morning they'd be able to halt the order, just while I double-checked (they did offer me the fabric sample to take home and check) so I was 100% certain?

nothing wrong in asking, but they may have already placed the order. Is the store not open today as most stores do now. so you can get swatch and check0 -

No it's a family run dept store. I asked how long it would be before its delivered and they said 8-10 weeks, so it won't have been started on yet! If I decided not to go ahead with purchase, can I cancel the order and am I entitled to deposit refund?Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0 -
They don't have to do anything. You walked into a store and ordered.
You'll have to ask them.0 -
I did think so, but we've ordered tons of things in the past (beds, carpets, curtains, etc) that they know us by first names, so maybe they'll be nice. Anyway I like the suite, it's just the colour I'm querying. There was another colour I liked. I'll go and ask tomorrow. Just to say the reason I'm unsure was that this company (the suite) has a web site where you can pick your suite and pick a fabric, then they customise it online, so you get a view of your item. I did this show my daughter and was dismayed to see the colour online looked totally different to the shop colour.Me transmitte sursum, caledoni0

Its a sunday, therefore I suspect the order has not yet been placed and therefore can be amended.
You need to ask the store.0 -

8 - 10 weeks yes most likely coming from Italy etc. But are they placing the order manually or automatically on a computer system.. Does not say its Sunday so most likely not started. If its on a PC and its a family store, they may do this on a PC/Laptop after hours at home or it could be set on their system to pass to the suppliers overnight the same way CC/DC terminals sync0 -

It's not going to look the same onscreen as in real life so I wouldn't panic. If you showed your daughter on my pc it would look different again.
By all means call the shop tomorrow and ask if you can double check the colour with a swatch before they order. I'm sure they'll accommodate for a good customer.0 -
As far as I know, most suppliers don't take orders on weekends (as in theres noone in their order department). So if you ring 1st thing tomorrow you should be fine

their are more and more suppliers/wholesaler work weekends now as more and more retailer work weekends.KarleyMarie wrote: »As far as I know, most suppliers don't take orders on weekends (as in theres noone in their order department). So if you ring 1st thing tomorrow you should be fine
But for the ordering such as this it all depends if they use an automated computer ordering system or still an old fashioned phone/manual ordering system.
but no harm in contacting them in the morning to check.0
