Airparks Birmingham - anybody know?

This seems to be my cheapest option but from the map 'Mackadown Lane' seems awkward to get to. Bearing in mind I'd be arriving in the dark and have never been there before, I'm a touch concerned.

Anybody know the place and offer an opinion?

    I've been Money Tipped!
Any other feedback please? Since posting the thread I have seen some horrendous reviews.
  • We've used them on countless occasions without any problems.
They also do a "Meet and Greet" that we've used in the winter - your car is returned to the airport, you know it'll start and they've had the heater on!
Getting to Mackadown Lane is OK, it's well signposted.
    Normal people worry me.

How about the APH park for Birmingham airport? I'm booked into the APH at Lea Marston Faraday Ave B46 1AL, the directions don't seem to be complicated at all from the M42?
  • Used them twice with no problems, getting to them at 3.30am using a sat nav after reading there instructions was also no problem. A bit crowded on the return journey but they did help with the cases

  • Airparks are basically a car park with transport to the airport entrance. That's it. However they are so expensive. I mean Really expensive For parking your car for a week it costs around £25.00 at Birmingham.

Your better off parking your car at a car park or free road parking and getting public transport to the airport. It does exactly the same thing and in some cases offers a quicker better service. The trick is knowing where to park your car.

For Birmingham airport park your car at Tile Hill railway station where it's free then get the ten minute train into birmingham airport that costs £1.80 per person each way. A saving of at least £21.40 on a 7 day stay when comparing with Airparks

Alternatively park it in Coventry at spencer rd for free, walk across the road to Coventry station and get the ten minute virgin train to Coventry for £2.10

I've applied the same formula for other airports. Using Airparks at Gatwick for ten days costs £66.00 However I parked the car at neighbouring railway stations Reedham (also tried Godstone) where it's free to park and costs around £5 on the train for a 20/30 minute journey in. Its not slower than using airparks and saved me over £50.00

The public transportation is already there at the major airports. The Only time you should use airparks is when your flight is in the early hours when the trains don't run.

It would be great of moneysavingexpert.com did a complete website on alternatives to airparks because there are huge saving to be made.

You consider £3.58 a day for secured parking Really Expensive? I couldn't park for a couple of hours for that in my local city centre.
