Thought I'd check out the JB's which Savvy mentioned in his sweetie list to confirm the APG is picking up M's 3F£2....result 60p per bag which I think is quite good for these.

A few more JC's also slipped into the basket ;):D:D
    [...]

Hi there (always check to see if Savvy's replied to your post overnight:D:rotfl:).

Of course it's 'quite good'!:D It would never make my list (or be mentioned by me) if it wasn't:):);):rotfl:.

To get to the M list (and I know some of you have a good attempt to try to get me to add other items onto there, but fail my stingent price hurdles), items go through two (or possibly three) screenings.

First of all, they have to get through looking good enough (on price) to me when I'm in the M store(s). This is also affected by whether I remember (which I often do:D) if they've ever been cheaper before, even if they are on 'half price' offer now. Bizarrely though, I can sometimes get attracted into items that are now on offer where a 'downshifted' version of that kind of grocery has recently risen by a few pence in price (...what else??:rotfl:) even if the downshift product is still better priced per unit. Then I remind myself of this and normally remove it.

The second screening is when I'm putting items onto the M list - I take more price offers than I actually put onto there - some, which I thought good when in the store, I later think - well they're not that good - even if something or somewhere else is a few pence cheaper - after all. Arguably there's another screening as well, as I'm checking the new items (and trying, and failing, to get round to the current ones already carried over on there) on msm.co.uk before I put them on - and, of course, if any competitor other than M is cheaper than M, then they don't get put on there! (That then, at that time, helps compile - by adding more to - the Avs T, Tvs A, Avs S lists etc.)

After the above, hopefully the items that make it to the list (or which I mention in posts in the absence (I wonder why..?:D;)) of time to put them onto the list) should be nothing short of very good effective prices.

If anyone is so inclined to do so while I'm away over the next hour or so (or perhaps it's been posted already today and I haven't caught up) you can cull together a list from the comps. that have been posted (or does anyone have a latest list?) of the Mullers that are comparing vs M. I know I have a long list on my M list, but I don't know what's been confirmed more recently or hasn't. TIA.

Many many thanks - I ended up doing a bit of this myself as I went off to do an Avs M shop (as well as an Avs T one) - this will go onto my checking list in due course (possibly for what it's worth as the next update of the APG, which is around the same time I end with the results of my weekly collections on here, could well change).

I personally dont like pot noodles but my hubby loves these, he much prefers them to the other pot noodles
    ChickenMushroomHR11.jpg

Then I think one of them should possibly go on your next Avs M comp. and ignore my SP Curry and Chicken Noodles that are no longer on the M list:p:D.:rotfl::rotfl: They're of course (in Eday Value form) Tvs A at the moment, for 1.1p more than Avs M/T before:rotfl:.

M do have (or last week had) some Mild Curry Noodles on at 14p price (just that version, unfortunately) and more gs in those - so they would be cheaper than 11p net, with the 10%, if A stocked any comparable. Sadly they don't - and, without the 10% off the 14p price, their price per unit works out more expensive than the SP ones (or at least it did when it was 10% off those when T/M were 11p - sadly they aren't any longer) - it's possible that, as you can't get the 10% (unless you have a store discount card) off the 11p price anymore, the M Mild Curry ones (which aren't 'Savers') may - if your M is nearby and doesn't cost to travel to - better per g.

All irrelevant to you of course as OH prefers Normous Noodle...
    Anyway...

    Back to the point.
I suspect the Normous Noodles (and M do have this flavour) are 50p in M. So perhaps goes good with the 5 diff. comparable Mullers, the JCs if still working and a few other vs M items. The Normous Noodles have, at least, been 50p for a number of weeks, up to and including last week, but constantly getting overtaken every time by the SP ones (now Tvs A or Avs W) being at 11p.

As usual though I take no blame should the JCs not work today or if the wheels should fall off on the M comp. and the GW Noodles compare to a much higher price. (Don't say I didn't tell you of the possible risk!:D)

The Normous Noodles now await checking and I'll find out on Wednes. if the 50p is still on in M. (It may be an RTC price, to which the APG might not - or might:D - compare to, but if so, even with an N/A it just means you get the straight 50p price on them anyway, in A, which, from msm.co.uk appears to the best price. Just don't want M to have suddenly put the price up this week - I'll find that out later.) For those without an A, or in N.Ireland, with a T, you can I presume (if T PP compares of course) try these GW Normous ones Tvs A.

HTH (certainly hope it doesn't result in losing more money off you).

[Edit: the Normous Noodles have also been lower priced before - they started off in M at 33p or thereabouts as a trial price, they have been at 33p (35p?) on one occasion since then but, usually, not as low as that. It's possible you may be able to pick up some as 'reduced to clear' items, i.e. at lower price than the general RTC on the normal place on the shelves but from the clearance shelf section instead, where the individual specific pot can occasionally be found marked down more - or as a 'whoopsie' etc., nearing its date on a specific pot.]

I know that picture is huge:eek::eek:!! And it was huge in the original post too:eek:. As ever, there's a reason though - hoping that the original poster (who is now doubtless sensibly tucked up asleep) will not fail to miss the reply when they return later! Hopefully bear with me!;):)
  • Went to Tescos tonight to get the ready meals - which are full of fat and calories, are not good for you but do taste good. Got a £9 PP.
Silly girl didn't scan my clubcard - is that why I didn't get a conditional spend this time?

Picked up some whoopsied fruit & veg, some lovely looking small caulis, nectarines, and some humous, coleslaw and potato salad all for 10p each - all in a 2nd shop, of course!

I still haven't made time to go to Asda for the JC - we still have 3 tins of Vinnies and 2 tins of fingers + 2 Milk Tray and a few other sweet things from the glitch before Christmas. Give me a snickers bar or a Topic (£1 for 4 at Mr T) anyday before these. Bit too sickly! I do like JC but hubby doesn't so I'm not bothered whether we get or not.

Seem to be having a bit of a problem when I try to quote - keeps putting the box for my reply at the very very far right hand side of the screen and cut off. Maybe I've accidentally pressed some button that's changed my settings again. Started when I tried to reply to scamps1966 after I posted that enormous Normous noodles picture. Serves me...!!:D

I don't know - if Ts operate the same as S (probably not!), last time I forgot my Nectie card (or, rather, dropped it in the car park on the way into the store:eek:, only to find it after I'd left and then go back in, CS scanned my Nectar to put the points out, I paid nothing more, and her machine then spat out coupon after coupon - including a 120pts off a £30:( - yet again.Oh, BTW, my Avs T shop from earlier today - but was this really savvy after all??? I bought Ex Spec Tomkin Tomatoes (220g) - first time I've ever bought an "Ex Special" product - and it isn't on msm.co.uk, so it's excluded from the APG and therefore not on the comparison. Part of 2 for £3 with the pineapple. But, even then, I paid £3.00 (in vouchers of course) but APG of £1.10 (£2.00 to 10% off the £1.00 pineapple price) - so it's £1.90, divided by 2 = still 95p per item (the pineapple and the tomatoes pack).

(Looked at another way, reaching the same result, the tomatoes individual packs cost £1.75, but as part of the 2 for £3.00 are effectively £1.00 on top of £2.00 pineapple but tomatoes don't compare to anywhere (indeed don't even appear) whilst pineapple refunds £2.00 to 90p. So still get the refund on the pineapple making it 90p, but paid £1.00 for the tomatoes, meaning average of 95p each.)

Yet if I'd just bought the pineapple only, it would have been £2.00 to the 10% off £1.00 anyway - therefore 90p for that item. It's now 95p for that and 95p for the tomatoes, and tomatoes pack that is under half the weight of SP ones at cheaper price. But the tomatoes pack, even if it's based on weight, the tomatoes are still quite a few, may not be bigger, but who cares, and at least we'll use 220g rather than 500g packs that might not get fully used.

Again those people that only like the Heinz eh:( - T's prices relying on a T mbuy.

Whether the trigger was savvy or wasn't, I can pretend I got more from the Herby Potatoes though, and from the other items - plus part wombled payment! Should have perhaps stuck a Soft and Gentle on the shop though.

    Why £3.82?

Still good - it's come back with more half the bill back:T. (I think they might be taking 2p off us though - unless I'm wrong, those Jelly Beans in M are 227g rather than 225g:rotfl:.
