We replaced our Sony plasma with an lcd samsung, OH loves the samsung but I don't think its a patch on the plasma for picture quality. I'd say go with the best sony plasma you can for your budget.
We have got a Samsung plasma, also happens to be 3D (was not intentional, just cheaper than the 2D at the time) and it is very good picture, good for gaming too. Remarkably good sound for a flat screen too.

So glad that telly is unavailable!
We're one telly short and if DH caught me buying yet another technika (after the warm beer fiasco) it might be the straw that breaks the camels back :rotfl:
I promised him his next big telly can be an expensive one as he always waffles on about cheap and false economies (he has a point I spose as the cheap lounge telly we have isn't that great with nasty motion blur).
If someone can find me a 40 inch bravia or viera at that price I'll be eternally grateful
i got a Sony Bravia 40 inch last summer for £399.00 at Argos. And it was actually free. I worked on the Queens Jubilee concert for a month and at then end we were all given one of the picnic baskets that the people who went into the palace for the picnic got. There was a whole pallet so i got one for each of us workers and added in an extra 4 for me. I then put them on E-Bay and got £99.00 each for them. Job done telly bought and actually the BBC paid as they paid for the whole thing. I dont smoke or drink so tv is my thing and its fab.0 -

Ours 3d too, it's a good tv just noticeable after having the plasma.0 -

Sorry went back to working for a bit
But if it compares (for example) 0.95 to £1.04 you get 10p added to the 10% which cancels out the 9p you lose due to T being more expensive iyswim
Errrrr
My maths brain's gone to sleep :rotfl: where's Savvy when you need him
I think I get what you mean
It loses 10p off the total but then the 10% kicks in so in real terms you only lose 10% of the 10p (or gain I'm not sure which)
Makes sense, I think  :rotfl:Historic Debt August 2009 = £63,600 10th March 2017 = £0 100% paid all gone!
Mortgage started June 2015 = £170,000 January 2022 = £134,000
Saving for Xmas 2022= . . Amazon £55
